Safety Engineer

(Job code 387) Our client is seeking a top notch Safety Engineer for their Central Virginia Region. This person will have the following responsibilities; • Provide Safety guidelines to Contractors during pre-bid meetings and post award meetings. • Review bid packages and work orders to ensure proper Safety Procedures and Policies are included. • Develop concept of regionalized Safety Program across mutiple facilities and 2 business units and • Co-lead Contractor Safety Forums at all facilities. Lead Structured Safety Processes at all facilities including monitoring individual compliance with requirements • Lead and participate in incident investigations involving Contractor employees. • Work with Contractors and Healthcare Professionals to manage employee injury cases. • Develop new leading indicator metrics and maintain current lagging indicator metrics for the Richmond, VA region. • Develop Multi-lingual Safety orientation program across regions (include computer-based training, classroom and hands on training. • Maintain Visual Management Boards (VMB) for Project Engineering at 3 sites. • Work with Procurement to develop standardized safety packages to be included in bid packages. • Train and Certify as "competent" person associated with Risk Assessments for Fall Protections Standards. • Lead Contractor Safety Audit program at all sites and ensure individual compliance. • Audit outside contractor safety progarm and records to ensure compliance with company’s requirements.

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field. Experienced in managing safety programs, preferably in a construction environment. • Minimum 11-15 years experience in industrial safety • Proficient in OSHA rules and regulations regarding construction safety. • Ability to lead safety meetings, provide training with craft and supervisory personnel. • Experienced with Apollo Root Cause analysis software
