Senior Estimator

execution methods. We are currently seeking an Estimator to support or
efforts in the New Orleans region. Focus on expertise of this position will
be in Fixed Price Heavy Civil / Concrete / Piling Flood Protection
projects, including Build-to-Print and Design/Build projects.
Experience in concrete and earthwork construction required. Organization, attention to
detail, ability to work within tight time constraints and under pressure;
and ability to work within a proposal team are all important for proper
performance of required duties. Experience with Primavera and Bid*Build
Estimating software a plus. Experience with Hard Dollar estimating software
(or similar) and Microsoft Office Excel and Word, and scheduling software
(Primavera preferred) required. Experience with AGTEK, and Microsoft
Project a plus. Responsibilities to include management of and performance
of all facets of bid preparation – review and comprehension of RFPs,
Specifications and Drawings; breakdown of scope of work into definable
tasks (WBS development); development of work crews and production rates for
performance of required tasks; performance of material takeoffs to define
quantities of work; RFQ development/solicitation/review and comprehension
of subcontractor/supplier quotes; development of Review Packages for, and
conducting senior management reviews; CPM scheduling; project cash flow
analysis; and proposal unit rate development and closeout. Responsibilities
will also include oversight and management of estimating assistants /
additional project estimators for large proposals. Experience in all phases
of heavy civil construction required including: earthwork, utilities,
concrete, masonry and steel structures. Background in Carpentry; Plumbing;
Mechanical/HVAC systems; Electrical power/lighting systems; and interior /
exterior finishings a plus.
