Senior Project Scheduler

Overview: RCS Corporation is currently supporting a client seeking a Senior Project Scheduler in their Nuclear Power Business Unit. The Nuclear Power Business Unit specializes in product development, systems engineering, component design, equipment manufacturing, and project management for new nuclear power plants worldwide.

The Sr. Project Planner works daily with the project team to maintain project schedules and will assist Project Managers using Primavera to plan and execute major projects. This position requires P6 for the NPP Projects Group expansion.

Specific Desired Skills:

A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:

A Bachelor's Degree is required (Business Administration, Construction Management, or Engineering) 3-5 years previous planning experience. A working knowledge of Primavera P3, P3e, or P6 is required. A working knowledge of SAP as well as other scheduling tools and techniques is required. Nuclear Plant knowledge and experience with site planning and scheduling techniques is preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, Power Point are required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio and Access is preferred. Knowledge of NSSS systems, and business unit’s products and services preferred. Proficiency in MS Office with demonstrated competency on data analysis utilizing Excel is required Proficiency in Primavera scheduling products, SAP and ARES PRISM is desired Competency on data analysis utilizing Excel is required General Job Function: The Sr. Project Scheduler will be assigned to a role of Scheduling, Performance Measurement and Cost Engineering, Risk Assessment, or Cost Estimating in support of Project Controls efforts for large, complex projects. Under limited supervision the incumbent will perform assignments in a project team environment according to capability and experience.

Major Responsibilities:

Facilitate and prepare customer or internal project cost/schedule/risk data and reports of moderate complexity or increasingly significant project size. Perform and coordinate project controls activities of moderate complexity. Develop/maintain effective work relationship with project personnel. Communicate with internal personnel to ensure understanding of customer’s objectives and expectations. Develop/maintain data analysis and forecasting techniques and templates. Assist in development and implementation of scope, schedule, and cost control baselines. Assist in developing resolution for critical path analysis and reporting. Assist in the development of Work Breakdown Structure and other project controls dictionaries. Identify and prioritize risk issues, facilitate development of action plans, and maintain risk register. Assure issues are promptly resolved. Participate in implementation of resolutions. Work with functional departments and service organization to develop services labor and material estimates. Develop & facilitate project meetings, including agendas and presentations. Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and assist in implementation.

Position Specifications:

Under minimal supervision, the individual competently performs all aspects of planning/scheduling, cost engineering, or risk assessment. Display initiative in resolving day to day and emergency problems which arise between customers and various groups. Recognize significant issues and submit recommended action to management for resolution. Be pro active in anticipating customer needs, requests, and expectations. Understand customer, especially internal customer organization. Respond to identified problems, gather facts, develop solutions and review recommended solutions with Project Manager for action. Understand and analyze technical problems and assist with resolving technical issues. Use initiative to match customer needs with relevant client products and services and work within client organization to solve problems to customer's satisfaction. Benefits:
